Purchase year : 2002 Price paid : 295 € Rating : A desk with a killer layout: 8Mic/line ins, 8 stereo ins, 4 stereo aux returns, 6 Aux sends (4 of then usable per channel, you can either use Aux3/4 or Aux5/6), 4 groups, stereo out. Unfortunately, the quality does not hold up to the design: EQs are of medium quality, sounding a bit harsh. The 60mm faders feel bad - there are better short faders out there, and each pot seems to have it's own grip: there are probably no two pots on my desk with the same feeling. On my desk, the input gain went hooray on 4 of the 8 mono ins after 2 1/2 years - annoying, but fortunately the channels now resort to unity gain, so they stay at least usable for electronic gear. Interesting thing is: This happened on all odd-numbered Mono in channels (1,3,5,7) - looks like Behringer has built in some quad chips here. So as a summary: The layout is a killert, sound quality is medium and touch and feel are bad. If you can afford it, go for a mackie, or if you can't afford it but have the room (are not limited to rack mixers) buy a used english console like a Studiomaster or a Spirit - you get similar consoles for around the same price.
