Rating : great guitars.....most people are not familiar with these models.....and so they tend to slip through the cracks sometimes.....you can get a really good deal on them (if you can ever find one ).....I've only ran across one in the last 6 years....I was trading a USA tele....guy showed up at my house with a 1997 California Series....Black.....I currently own 3 Strats...an 03' Standard.....USA....an 06' Anniversary Edition, and the 97' Cali Series.....the 97' is my daily player.....I think theres a great possibilty that these guitars will definetly be sought after at one point....Fact is though....not many people have even heard of the series....highly recommended.....love the tex-mex pickups....vintage tinted neck....just a real alround great guitar....

Purchase year : 2008 Price paid : 300 GBP Rating : This is a fender caloifornia series candy apple red stratocaster. Its avalibile in 5 other coluors which are fiesta red, brown sunburst, black and vintage white.(All With a tinted maple neck)This one plays like a dream. With a vintage tremolo, tuners and 4 bolt neck plate. They were manufactured in 1997-1998(this one was 1997).I got it from a shop in castleford somewhere, originally it would of cost around £700 but because it had some fretwear the guy reduced it to £400!!!Better still I had an old washburn les paul that needed selling, so i gave him the les paul and £300 he shook my hand and that was that.I do recomend this guitar it really does play like a dream.By the way the serial number is AMXN734077.

Purchase year : 2002 Price paid : 575 USD (used) Rating : This guitar is a real player. Many believe that Fender discontinued this popular line after only two years of production because it was taking away from sales of their high end guitars. The tone is excellent. It was made with the same vintage parts as the 62 re-issue. Six point tremolo, 21 medium jumbo frets, kluson type tuners, maple or rosewood fretboard. These guitars were shaped by Fender's craftsman in Corona California, sent to Mexico to be handpainted, and then returned to Corona to be fitted with American vintage hardware and electronics. I prefer the Tex-Mex pickups over standard strat pickups. Highly recommended. Found an error on this page ? please contact us.
